I ordered a turkey for Thanksgiving. On Tuesday night having not heard my bird had been shipped I called Gilt to see if there were problems. I was told that it was scheduled for a Friday delivery. I then asked if they could expedite delivery and to call me back if things changed from the Friday delivery. I heard nothing and was worried about Thanksgiving dinner. This morning I went out at 7 am and was able to find a fresh turkey. When I returned from the store I finial received the notice they had shipped the turkey. I called Gilt to try to work out the situation. The supervisor told me they could not have told me it shipped last night because it was being put on the truck today. The UPS tracking information stated it was picked up at 7:06 on Tuesday. They would not admit they were wrong or that I deserved notice until the day before Thanksgiving. All that was necessary was notice when it was picked up. Might be my last order from both Jive Turkey and Gilt, already a bad taste in my mouth.
