I was in the process of relocating me and my two chldren to a cheaper apt. Closer to work. I found Bluffton house they seemed very nice so in the last part of January I applied. They told me I could not be approved because of a charge from a previouse apt. Charge. After several weeks of proving to them I owed nothing. That apartments distric manager spoke to the manager at bluffton house, Jennifer. She told her I owed nothing. And She and I were excited then that day Feb 22. The manager Jennifer gave me the unit number pluse told me to turn the lights on and I would be able to move in the new apt friday the 25 of feb. I began packing and being a single mom payed the only help I would have, extra money I did not have to help me move on saturday. This person as a favor to me, took of his side job he would have that sat, to help me move. I called the manager Jennifer friday morning at work and reaffirmed the move for friday plus because I live 30 min away brought a load of things to move with me in my truck. Jennifer told me I was missing paper work in my file, furiouse at this message, I left work and see what was wrong. She told me the file was not approved because I needed to turn in a work verification form. I asked if it was any thing else she said no. But before I left I made her pull out the file and look again, at that time she said owe yea, my drivers lience and two more forms. I had transfered my lights and packed my stuff and my childrens stuff up. So I asked her before I left I need the key today or me and my kids will go home in the dark tonight. She said I will call you if anything else is wrong, but get a copy of your work verification form. No call, no move. Nothing was taken care of when I got off work, and she could have cared less. I felt that because I was not hispanic like her and her co-worker. But african american I was treated like that. She moved in two hispainc famlies that day, when she left I asked one fam how long it took to get in, she said not long at all. Even while I was there the were things being said about me in her native tounge. She had no idea I was bilengual. I got my deposit back and left her apt. Complex. After sitting for 2 hrs after work. Me and my children came home to a dark empty apt.
