I bought what was sold as new dining room furniture from Haverty Furniture Company. What I received was old, rotten, gouged and damaged furniture from Haverty! I called customer service after inspecting the furniture the next day and told them it was damaged, old and gouged. They promised to send out an inspector. He came and after taking pictures etc. Haverty called to set up redelivery of new replacement furniture for damaged chairs and server. When it came the delivery men said there was damaged on the server. They refused to leave new server and replaced the dining table with a different one but it did not match my decor and was not the same color as the one I purchased. They also left the new chairs to replace the old ones. Once they refused to leave the new replacement furniture I specifically asked them to take all of their furniture from my home and refused to sign any additional paper work. They left their damaged furniture in my home and I have on many occasions called, I have written them and have told them that I will not/I do not accept the old furniture and that I will not pay for it.in fact, the splintered server is dangerous since it has splintered wood and could cause a child to hurt himself. I have contacted BBB, police dept.in the city I live, the company that will be financing it (I bought it with the 12 months same as cash plan so I have paid no money and will not because the furniture is not what I bought.) so I have asked them beginning with the day after I purchased the furniture to replace the damaged furniture. I asked them when they would pick up their old furniture but the customer service rep. Said they would pick up the old furniture when they brought out the new replacement furniture. However, I have been given double talk, being lied on and about and accused of damaging the already damaged furniture and they refuse to pick up the old, rotten, gouged, damaged furniture and said they have dealt with me fairly. They state that they have tried to resolve it by asking me to let them repair the damaged furniture in my home (less than 8 feet from where my sick mother lies since she suffered a stroke). Now, they are pretending that I damaged a portion of the already damaged furniture which they were to replace. I have told them that I will not pay for old rotten, gouged, damaged furniture when I bought new furniture and they guarateed it and sold it as new. I have many witnesses that I showed the damaged furniture to and who will testify that it was damaged, old, rotten and gouged with screws falling from under the chairs as we sat at the table and played the game "Are you smarter than a 5th Grader" with my Grandson and others. I will never buy from Haverty Furniture Company! Thank You
