Some of our good old boys feel the need to balance their budget and try to convince the tax payers in town that they are doing a great job.
Fact 1. You can't balance your budget by selling off everything that you have.in the past years you have tried to sell off property (down at the beach) in order to get more tax revenue. "This will help solve the continued tax increases that the town is getting every year" It didn't!
Fact 2. You have tried to convince people that the sale of Big Tupper Ski Area is going to solve all of our problems. How many people can remember paying the increase in electricty for months because we had to purchase necular power instead of hydro. I can to the tune of an extra $100/ month.
Fact 3. You try to convince towns people that you did a great deed by getting a store (Wise Buys) to come into town. How many of you have actually been to one of their stores? I for one have and do believe that the people in town deserve better then a store that deals with 2nds. All this store is is a glorified Dollar Store. Check out the one in Canton. If the Ski Slope sale is going to "Put Tupper Lake back on the map" why didn't K-mart or Wal-mart want to come in?
