Tarpon Springs police are looking into a mysterious case that left a duck with an arrow pierced through its backside Wednesday morning. Authorities were called to the Meadows mobile home community after 12 noon, when a resident reported the wounded duck. According to Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, it was found in a fountain in the middle of the pond. It took them over an hour to catch the wounded duck. The duck was taken to Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary and a representative said that the piercing was fresh and infection had not set in, nor has it affected the ducks mobility.
The bird was flying around with the arrow sticking out of its behind.
Police said the homeowners association had hired a company to remove problem ducks from a pond.
