This Lieutenant Craig Rivers of the Waukesha, WI Police Department is a world class jerk! A couple months ago I received a death threat and when I reported it not only did he not take me seriously and file a report (like police officers are supposed to), but he said I wasn't supposed to be using the internet or phone which was false! Hello, this is a complaint letter about who I was talking to on the phone Monday morning, February 15th around 3:20 am. On that particular day I made a phone call to Waukesha Police and got transferred to this officer. The purpose of the phone call was to report a death threat made to me from a guy named Austin Putnam from Woodruff, SC. I tried to explain the situation to this officer but instead of helping me file a report for it, he started talking about another thing completely unrelated to what I was calling about using that against me to put me down on purpose I believe.
He twisted my words around intimidating me like I was some sort of criminal.instead of helping me out with the death threat he went on about an incident that I did with a radio station a few weeks ago. Like I said, completely unrelated to what I was calling about. If he had wanted to contact me about that he should have done it already. I did not call to discuss that. He also said I was not supposed to be using the phone or the computer unless my caregiver was there which I later found was false. That was something that happened a long time ago which the problem was taken care of. There was a mistake right there. Another thing he asked me was who was my caregiver? I don t have a caregiver anymore, not exactly. Quality Living Services discharged me and my grandfather (who he upset as well) pays for my apartment since I don t have a full time job right now to do that. I take care of myself other than transportation which to I am working on getting my driver's license and changing my sleep schedule around so I can get focused on that. About the caregiver thing, he said it like I was some sort of little kid who shouldn't be playing with fire. He told me that he was going to contact my caregiver in the morning but the only kind of caregiver I really have is a case worker whom I just talked to later that day and she said that no one from the police called her. So this was a mistake that obviously took place behind my back between that stupid WABB person and her police department that got information mixed up.
He got so frustrating to talk to that I finally hung up the phone and that was that. His phone call resolved absolutely nothing and if anything, made me more upset because not only was the death threat report not taken care of, I was intimidated/made fun of on the phone as well as being treated like a little kid. I think it's unfair that if I have a bad history of reports a filed against me that I don't have the right to make any reports even if they are life threatening emergencies. That was the vibe I was getting from that officer. So nothing was taken care of or resolved because he tried to twist my words around and make me feel like I was the one at fault for everything. He was discriminating against me and discrimination is against the law as he should have known being a police officer himself. I couldn't even go through with my teeth cleaning at the dental appointment I had that day because I was so upset about the way he treated my report like it was some kind of joke! It was not a joke! And those people at my dentist's office were ones my grandpa and I knew for years that he used to work with. Usually I talk to the receptionist Jill there but I could not this time because I kept thinking about last night, the death threat and the inappropriate behavior of this officer. No thank you Waukesha Police for making me feel that way.
I think this officer should be fired/terminated from his job and an apology made. I have really had lots of frustrations with this Waukesha Police. Like I have said in an e-mail a long time ago, everyone there acts like jerks and doesn't help with anything. I agree with this quote from the movie National Security which I think goes "I'll tell you who's a bad cop. Pick up the phone and call the police station. Doesn't matter who answers. I did not like the way this officer spoke to me and he should have taken my complaint seriously and treated me with equal respect which I felt I did not get. I'm very disappointed in this police department and the officers that they hire.
If there are incidences that happen to me that require police services I will purposely avoid calling the late shift patrol people because I don't wish to be treated disrespectfully by some person who tries to twist my words around making unnecessary rude comments to me about my situation. My personal life is none of his business and I do not need some dumb jerk treating me like a little kid either. This officer should not work for any police department based on conduct like that and I am serious there. Because of his mistake, I took all my computers and hid them making 6 or 7 trips to do so. When I found out there was no such restriction I had to haul them all back losing out on important phone call returns and e-mails. This officer caused me also to call and wake my grandpa up worrying him all night which he couldn't get back to sleep.
I e-mailed WABB because I wanted to know what their problem was in not replying to me about a damn t-shirt. I don t know why they wouldn't reply they're jerks just like that officer at this department. Other radio stations have gotten back to me. Not everyone mind you but this was a shirt I really wanted. I know now not to contact them anymore and since they re unresponsive to loyal radio fans, they can just rot in hell for all I care. But this had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with what I had been calling that night.
So here is what happened with the death threat. This guy was an eBay seller to which he knew I was interested in the item being offered but then ended it early selling it to a bidder about 15 mins after the bid. He did not contact me or notify me about if this was ok which it was not. When I questioned this and called him on the phone he started making rude comments, then said he had a gun and knew where I lived. Then said he was going to shoot me. I hung up after that. This happened around midnight his time and I only called that late because he had sent me an email about 4 mins earlier so I knew he was still up. This was the report that should have been filed but wasn't. He sounded really serious about coming all the way up here and I was scared for my life which this officer did nothing about. The only thing this officer did was talk about an incident completely unrelated to my report which I can't believe is good police protocol.
Everyone should be treated equally with the respect they deserve in this world and I did not get that.instead all I got were rude comments and insults treating me like a little kid which I did not appreciate. Again there was no apology or response from Craig Rivers so you can see exactly the kind of police officer/department this is - an uncaring, non-protective one that should be reviewed by other districts.
I gave many chances for this Craig Rivers to apologize but he never did. He's just an officer who thinks he can treat people like they're trash and get away with it. Surprised he has a family and kids - I bet he treats them with disrespect too acting like a drill sergeant. He shouldn't even be working for any police department, let alone be a lieutenant for one. If I ever have a report or want to work in the police area, I will not apply for dumb Waukesha police unless he is gone! And still then I most likely won't because of the bad handling this department does. They treat everyone like they're criminals and act like jerks too! Shame on you Craig Rivers and Waukesha Police Department!
