I pre-registered my daughter for summer camp by paying up front $10/wk for the entire 11 weeks of camp for a total of $110.
During the second week of camp we found that my daughter was not a good candidate for their summer camp program so we were looking for a refund of the rest of the weeks not used for a total of $90. We were going to use this money to put towards the enrollment of group swimming lessons at this YMCA.
When I went into the School-Ages services offices to request a refund and/or if they would apply this money to the swimming lessons, I was instead denied any refund at all. I was told that it was a non
refundable "guaranteed to hold your spot" prepayment and no refunds were permitted.
I'm not quite sure this is a way to get members/non-members to keep going to an organization that is supposed to be family friendly. Needless to say, I will NOT ever be a member of the YMCA "family" since they do not cater to members at all and will not acknowledge that not all of their programs are a good fit for "everyone".
Shame on YOU, YMCA!
