I happened to be in Glenwood Springs for business and made the unfortunate decision to go into Ms. Ryan's store on a break from the work shop I was attending. She was accommodating and pleasant, helping me pick out a lamp from a catalog since she didn't have what I needed in stock.
My debit card was charged. Time went by and I hadn't heard from her. I attempted on the next two occasions I was in Glenwood, to pick the lamp up as I was told it would be in. Needless to say it never arrived. I told her to just credit my card back and be done with it. She responded by calling my cel phone and berating me. She called me names, told me I reeked of alcohol when I was in her store, and told me never to set foot in her store again. As if I would!
When I got home after this last "visit" with Ryan, which is two hours away, I told my husband what had happened. He told me to "let it go, the woman is obviously crazy."
Still, it was a horrible experience and hard to forget. I feel so fortunate that my only purchase was a lamp. She couldn't monetarily hurt me, although the fact that she has/had my debit card number is disturbing.
I learned that others had similar, only on a much larger scale, experiences with this woman. After reading other reports on this site it is clear that she is a menace. I took her behavior toward me as a personal assault. Clearly, I shouldn't take it personally. Law enforcement needs to become involved. Hasn't she harmed enough people?
