The Grant Professor
Scam

I was looking for a site to help me with obtaining grants. I found The Grant Professor. I filled the out information form to obtain a CD on how to get grants. When I came to the accept or not accept portion of the site I didn't agree with some of the statement so I picked the NO box to discontinue and back out of ordering the CD. Another box with the yes or no acceptance appeared and I clicked on the NO again. What came up was, "Thank you for your order" instead of my information page (like most sites when you back out and not order). That should never have happened. I checked my e-mail daily to see if I got anything from The Grant Professor and I hadn't. I did this (for 8 days) until the CD appeared in the mail one day. That same day I looked at the CD and decided I didn't want to be member of The Grant Professor so I called and found out they were closed for the day. I called the next day and cancelled. The following day I found they had charged me $69.95 for a months membership. I called and was told that I had exceeded the 7 day (from first day of request) trial. I told the woman I was speaking to that I called the day I received the CD and cancelled. She said it was their policy to charge $69.95 for the service after the trial date had been reached. I told her I hadn't received anything to look at during the 7 trial days, so how was I supposed to know if I wanted to keep the service. She said I had received a log-on and password from them that I could have gone out and looked at the site anytime I wanted to. I told her that I had never received a log-on or password or any other information from them until I received the CD the day before. There was a long pause and then she did the spiel about how many days I had to look it over and that I had surpassed those days. I told her the company was nothing but a SCAM and hung up on her. How am I to look at a site when I was not given the information? Without this information I don't feel I should have been charged $69.95. They take the whole 7 days to get the CD to you and then have to nerve to say you are over the allotted time so it's okay for them to take the money. Also when you say NO and try to back out of the site it should not continue to accept your information. That in itself is a scam. You have no way of discontinuing ordering and getting taken for $69.95. As far as I'm concerned this company is a scam!
