I'm sure I am not alone in this. I believe that I may be entitled to the emergency extended unemployment benefits that the President signed in to law a couple of weeks ago.in fact I even received a letter in the mail asking me to re-apply on line for these benefits. After completing the on line form I was instructed that in order to complete my application I must call the office and speak to an individual. I have been calling the given number now for three days. Each time I am informed that all the reps are busy and that I should call back at 15 minute intervals. I have been doing this for three days, all day. No luck. The problem is that according to the directions I must complete this claim no later than Friday. I will keep trying but I doubt that I will get through. I understand that they may be busy over at the Dept. Of Labor, but they should have an alternate method of completing the application either on line or in person or at the very least, extend the Friday deadline. I believe that the lack due diligence on the part of the NYS Labor Dept. Is meant to discourage people from getting their due benefits.
