I just want to say that if you are a state of texas injured worker, be careful. The insurance company and the state laws suck big time.
I will give you an example. Let's say you were injured like I was. Now, you are receiving treatment (which is a joke in itself) but now due to the injury that you have sustained you develope a new injury which is related, say, stress. Now, your doctor prescribes some medication which is related to stress. Now, granted, you wouldn't have had the stress if it hadn't been for your particuliar injury, but the insurance company is refusing to pay for the medicatiion. What is one to do? I will be even more specific. I am talking about Shingles. Anyone with some medical expertise knows that this is an outward sign of stress. It is caused only by stress. Not everyone is suseptable to this type of stress. Some persons get ulcers, of which you can't see. Everyone handles stress differently.
As we all KNOW the crap that workers comp puts us through is "stress". Some do better than others.
I guess my point is this. I have recently been prescribed medication for shingles due to the stress I am going through. I also am subject to migraines, that too can be stress related. Now, their are paying for the migraine medication but not the stress related medication, go figure.
The state of texas and their so-called laws, leave something to be desired.
I don't have a clue as what to do. What I do know that I think I plan to do is let them fill all the meds that I don't need, just to make them pay. This state sucks, big time. They DON'T care about the injured worker.
Pass this on to others. Let's see what we can do to change this. I doubt we can, the idiots won't get off their horses long enough to pay attention to the needs of others. I really don't like to be used by them. I would like to get better. Now they are changing the way the medication is to be given out. Yes, they are now going to say "generic" only. Well, generics don't work for all of us. They won't despense as written. They are just clerks and pretending to be doctors. Typical Texas crap.
