I received a call on 6/25/05, but I was not able to answer the phone, so I called tham back later. The number that I called back was a New Jersey numper that said that it was disconnected or not in service. I again received a call from the same number, and the other person who did not speak English very well and was in a noisy room with a bad connection told me that they are from First National Government Grants.
Something did not seem right to me when they told me the deal that was going to cost me $30.00, but I was to receive a voucher that was redeemable for the amount of $100.00. My feelings were substantiated when they asked for my routing number, bank name and account number.
I did not give eny information to them; however, I asked them to call me back this Friday, the First of July, so I had time to research them. Now that I figured out that this is a scam, I am going to find out who to call and inform them.
Maybe they can catch them and put them up on charges. If you have any advice, or can help. Please send a rebuttal or comment. Maybe we can help others not fall into this scam.
