Phone not charging

I bought a htc wildfire s from metro and 6 months la i ter it stopped working conincedentaly after i paid my 50 dollar bill they said we will order you a new phone it will take 3-5 buisness days and will require you to pick it up here and pay 11 dollars shipping and handling but will come without a battery so i bought a new battery it worked for a few hours and no wont turn on at all i dont have the money to pay for the shipping and handling right now so im out my whole months bill and no home phone so im screwed i left the store crying
