Calling Plan Not Available - Unit Calling Plan

Hello: I have been a Cingular now ATT customer for years. I had a business wireless acccount but the business was going to be closing but we all wanted to keep our phone numbers. So i called ATT wireless and asked what i needed to do to move the numbers to personal use. Most importantly I stated that i wanted to then set up a Unity Calling Plan since I also have ATT for my home service. This next part may be hard ot believe but if anyone at ATT wants to vefify my account that can easily do so. I started off on my adventure at around 8:30am. I was going to be moving a total of 5 lines form my business account over to 2-Family Unity Calling plans. At around 11:00am (I'm not kidding) I was nearly completed. I had to open up the new individual accounts for a fee of $15 or $20 dollars each. Then when this was completed the service represenative stated she needed to transfer me over to combined billing. Here the tiem was well over 90 minutes. At the end of the call the represenative stated that all was finished but the conversion woudl not take place until the next billing cycle on the 14th. When my bill arrived I was not in a Unitiy Callin Plan. So I gathered up some more patience and called Custoerm Service. I had a nice gentelman in the Washington State area assist me and said he was not sure what went wrong but i was not in a Unity Plan and he would fix it for me. This took about 40 minutes. Just for kicks I did not want wait for my next bill to find out that I was still in the wrong calling plan. So I called and the Custoemr Service person stated that there is no way I could have a Unity Calling Plan due to the fact that my the cell numbers in question were at one time in a business account and were not eligible. This is strange since an employee i laid off transfered his phone number to a Unity Plan and he now has combined billing but now just 6-weeks later the Unity Plan will no longer work. I gave the represenative hsi number to see hwo they accomplished this and they could only say that it woudl not work for me, they stated that i woudl need to cancel my phone number that I have had for nearly 10 years and open up a new account from scratch. I tried calling to see if I could get a different answer but they again said that since my numbers were once in a business account you will never be eligible for a Unity Calling plan. I also need to say that i did preform the eligiblity test on the ATT Wireless site to check in advance that Unity calling plans were availble in my market. At the end of the call i asked the represenative if ATT would give me some credit since the calling plan was not available, she did give me a one time credit but it will not last long. So I'm faced with canceling 5 wireless numbers and open up new accoutns with new phone numbers or change to a new carrier from scratch. Part of me wants to cancel and start over but you know how we like our wireless numbers. If anyoen can give me some help it would be greatly appreciated. Tim Zorc
