We were booked to sail on QE Cruise Q233 for the Holy Land and Easter Mediterranean, boarding at Athens on 17th. Nov. The evening before I checked with Cunard regarding our overnight stop at Haifa, but was reassured that will be making the stop in spite of the Foreign Office having advised all British Nationals not to travel to Israel and the Middle East a week earlier. Our main reason for booking this trip was to visit the Holy Land. On boarding, the Captain informed that we would not be calling at Haifa because of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza. Three days later we were informed that we would not be calling at Alexandria because of the unrest in Egypt. On the 27th. We were again informed that we will not be calling at Naples because of bad weather. Hence it appears we were shortchanged and Cunard was economic with the truth. I gather that none of the ships were calling at Haifa as early as September.in view of this we claim a full refund for the disappontment and distress caused by Cunard's action (from Mr. & Mrs G.
