I called a number listed for Susies a clothing retailer. I got a recorded message telling me that I won a gift card from Walmart. A man with an accent came on the line and told me that I was one of the first 25 callers and won. I told him that I was calling Susies and wondered why I won a Walmart giftcard.
He told me that I had to pay $3.00 for mailing and asked me for my credit card number. I gave him it. He told me that if the call gets disconnected to call back and ask for Neil Anderson.
I got a dial tone, I called back and asked for Neil Anderson and they said "who"? Then, a man got on the line.
Too many people who couldn't speak straight english got on the line and I got suspicious so I told them to cancel it. They said that it was too late and they had already charged it.
I tried to hang up and they kept calling me back and a woman pleaded with me that they were legitimate and transferred me to an automated voice system that kept adding more and more money on my card and I said "no" and they wouldn't stop. I hung up my phone and picked it up to call the police. I couldn't get a dial tone. This occurred at least three times. I finally had to pull my phone out of the wall to get a dial tone.
