I have had magickjack for several months now. At first it worked really well, but as time goes on, I have given up on it.
I have had to repeatedly go to the site to get an online agent. They have been very helpful and patient, and things would improve for a few days, but then same old problems.
The problems are: every time I speak, I get an echo of my voice, static, breaking up, like a cell, crackling noises, suddenly get a dial tone in the middle of a call, answer the phone and get a dial tone, dial a number and only get a dial tone, and I have to talk very loudly to be heard.
I have tried everything they suggest, but in the end, I have the same problems. I am glad I didn't spend more than twenty dollars.
It reached a point where I couldn't stand to have to make a phone call, or answer the phone. Today was the last straw. I am no longer going to use it. I am tempted to smash it up and return it, but that is too much energy to extend. But, I won't recommend it to anyone, and refer them to this site.
