I have been getting promtional email from citibank for several years now, sometimes as high as 2 or 3 a week. I finally answered one the other day and after being given the run around for nearly a week i was told there was a lockdown on my account. Why keep sending me all this junk mail if you know you are not going to approve an application. I now have a credit pull on my credit report for nothing. My husband and i had a citibank sears card for many years. When he passed away in 2004 i continued to use the card and made all payments just as i was suppose to. One day i received a collection notice from citibank saying my account had been closed and the balance in full was due at that time. When i contacted them they said it was because my husband had passed away and the account was now closed without any notice or warning. Since i didnt have the money to pay the balance in full that quick i took a settlement offer and took care of it. That was over 5 years ago and MY current credit score is 770 and i have excellent credit with all my creditors. I do not need citibanks card especially if they know from the get go they are going to deny the application and i also DONOT want to continue getting all the junk mail from them for these same reasons. If they are going to put a hold on my application then they SHOULDNOT continue to send me all this mail!!!
