My husband received a phone call from Tomas Morales Mejia stating my husband had won a $1,000.00 certificate because someone had called from our phone and we were automatically entered into a sweepstakes and we were 1 of 7 winners. The caller did not know his name or address, which made him very suspicious that it was a scam.
He had to pay $129.00 for the insurance policy and if he refused to pay then his prize would be denied. The $129.00 raised to $130.15 in cash and it would be COD (Collected on Delivery).
Once I received the salmon slip from the USPS stating that they had missed the delivery of the package I was relieved, it was obviously a scam. I called the Post Office and I told the man what happened and he was super helpful. He told me that if I didn't want to pay for the package that it would be returned to the sender.
Fortunately, thanks to all the complaints posted on this website we were able to avoid losing our money. We added our experience to hopefully help others avoid this scam. Have a great day!
