Toys R Us online order - Nintiendo 3DS XL

I placed an online order on 11/07. For a $199.99 Nintendo DS XL gaming system to include a free $20.00 value game case. The online site said it was in stock. To me that meant the system and case would be sent. I did receive the system but no case. I waited a week to see if the case would be shipped. I called today and was told that they did not have anymore cases when I placed my order, and that I should have read the fine print saying "while they last". Shouldn't the order form tell me that the case was not available so I could have changed my order? No instead I could pay the shipping again to return it or find a retail store to return it and forfeit the shipping fee that I had paid. But now I can't because I had opened the package to check it over to be sure it was ok from the shipping. I feel that Toys R Us should send me a case in good faith and try to please a customer.instead they have lost a Grandmother that buys gifts for four Grandson's under the age of nine. I am very disappointed in a well named retail store like Toys R Us.
