I'm a college student in Flagstaff, so I ride my bike around everywhere. I went and bought takeout from a restaurant down the street. I needed napkins, so I stopped at Target on my way back to my dorm. Rather than leave my food in my bike's basket, I brought it inside since I was only buying a few things and would not be long. When I went to the checkout line, I paid and then the cashier asked to look inside my bag. I held it open for her, but she moved to the side, implying I should set it down and let her search it. I did so because I was in a hurry. It was honestly such a humiliating experience. Also, I don't like having strangers rifle through my belongings for any reason-especially not a bag that contains food. I don't know when she last washed her hands! It was strange to me that even though Target has so many cameras on the ceiling and an entire team dedicated to loss prevention, this woman felt the need to search my bag.
