Based on the proposal submitted, several statements made about the equipment available to him to do the work and the preparation to do the final asphalting of our driveway were bypassed and others were not true. Upon inspection of the driveway, the following were observed: (1) the asphalt was patchy and surface was not smooth; (2) most of the areas were quite pitted; (3) there were already cracks developing in the asphalt; and (4) the asphalt was not compacted properly. After repeated calls, we were promised that they would come and fix the driveway. Sometime in September, Frank and his crew came over and said they would address my complaints.
They tried to seal the cracks and worked on a couple of areas that interface with the concrete around the asphalt. They also coated the driveway which was part of the agreement.
The job was very poor but Frank Matherly told me that this is the best he can do. The result of the repair work basically did not improve the condition of the driveway at all and, as a matter of fact, there are still large areas that are pitted with loose asphalt separating from the surface with new cracks already appearing.
