Due to financial difficulties, which I informed the brokers about, I sadly missed my final DD payment on a commercial vehicle policy.
Before I had the opportunity to rectify the matter however, they cancelled the policy before actually sending me written notice of this intention. This occurred 2 wks before term, resulting in the loss of a years no-claims and now, constant harassment by a debt collection agency.
I offered to pay what was owed for the month in question and half of the final month, up to the point where they cancelled the policy, however they insisted I owe a cancellation fee and interest on recalculated adjustments to my monthly payments, totaling £337.25.
Naturally, I have informed the debt collection company of the late policy termination letter and that fact that this casts question marks over their pursuit of any debt. They however, think obviously otherwise!
