Parkland Auto Cente
Consumer Report

On August 14, I purchased a Chrysler town and country van from Parkland Auto Center. During the test drive, I noticed that the van doors did not function properly. The right side passage sliding door did not open or lock. The left side passenger door only opened about 6 inches. I explained to Parkland Auto Center that I needed a van with operating doors and would not be purchasing the vehicle.in return, Parkland Auto Center agreed to fix the doors but added on $500 to the negotiated price.
I ended up purchasing the vehicle. When I would call to make appointment to fix doors I was told that they were waiting for financing to go through. It was not until august 31 that financing was approved. I continued to call Parkland Auto Center to set up repairs for vehicle and was told to call back or I would receive a call back. It was not until Monday September 10 at 10:45am I received a message from Drew Balogh manager, to bring the vehicle in for repairs. I dropped my van off on September 12, and within 15 minutes; I received a call back from James Brown, letting me know the parts would not be in for a week and that I could pick my van back up.
For the next three weeks, I contacted James Brown asking when the parts to fix van would be in and every time I got the brush off. I am a high anxious person and due to my pregnancy am unable to take medication. The stress began to be too overwhelming and my boyfriend who co bought the vehicle with me took over dealing with the dealership.
On October 3, the General Manager Ryan told him that no parts were ordered and they were not fixing the van. He continued to call Ryan about fixing doors that they promised in writing to fix that we paid an extra $500 for. On October 11, the van was taken into Advance Auto Care to be looked at. It was at this time Ryan agreed to fix the right side of the van door. He then continued to tell my boyfriend that for $200 more he would have both doors fixed. When my boyfriend explained he wanted both doors fixed as agreed that we already paid $500 for Ryan threatened not to fix any doors at all.
On Thursday October 12, I took the van in to have the right side fixed. When I picked it up the lock on the door still did not function properly. Since the lock dose not function, the door will not open unless unlocked. Advance Auto Care explained the the dealership did not give them permission to fix lock on door. I asked for a copy of the receipt of service because I wanted to know if total cost came to the $500 I paid extra for. I was told I would have to request a copy from Parkland Auto Center. I was denied this right by Parkland Auto Center who refused to give me a copy of the receipt.
When I contacted GM Ryan to explain my dissatisfaction that the right side was still not completely fixed and without the use of the lock, the door is no use to me. He pretended not to know what I was talking about and that it was not agreed in our original contract. When I explained that we still wanted the left door to be fixed as agreed on, he acted as if he did not know the left side was broken. It was at this time I was told by Ryan he was done dealing with the van doors issue.
