AL SMITH IS RUINED ME AND MY HUSBANDS CREDIT - My husband purchased a car from Al Smith on a Sunday afternoon. We had drove home with our car that dar with all the paperwork and everything signed. Tuesday morning we got a call and was advised that the interest rate had to be raised by 3% and that they needed me to sign the contract and go on as a co-owner since this would be our second financed car. I did not agree to this and we took the car back and went elsewhere. That is when the next dealership told us that Al Smith has submitted our credit over 17 times and they never had us approved for either interest rate that we were given. They said that every dealership used the same system called Auto Trade or Auto Track. This made me so angry. When we called Al smith, they advised us that they were not aware that our credit had been ran so much and I asked for the name of the bank that we were approved for and when I researched, I found out that we were never approved by that bank. My husband and I had planned to purchase a house in the next 6 months and now we will not be able to do that because of so many inquires on our credit. These inquiries stay on for 2 years and they have ruined us. They also submitted my credit as well without me having that knowledge. We will never buy a vehicle from them and will tell all of our friends and family to do the same. We are going to seek legal advice to see if there is anything we can do.
