This company scours databases for personal information, lumps it all in one place, and makes it public — some of it public for free, the rest for a fee.
I was threatened by a random creep who was looking for people to call and harass, and I had to jump through hoops to get my information out of their system (and I'm sure they still have it and are more than happy to sell it, just because it's not free or they SAY they took it out doesn't mean they did).
They claim their info is easily accessed by anyone, yet it isn't at all. The only way a random stranger can find it is through organizations such as theirs and the other companies run by Inflection.
They do not screen any potential users, so anyone can pay a small fee and get all your personal information for next to nothing and potentially open credit cards, get into your bank accounts, find your address and show up and physically harm you, call you and harass you or try to scam you with the information they have.
If you do not want them to publicly share all the information they've gathered about you, YOU have to make repeated requests to get it off the internet, YOU have to follow up (and in the process, they ask you for even MORE personal information supposedly to make sure they have the right person — yeah, right!).
This is out and out identity theft. They are compiling files containing a wide variety of personal information without permission and selling it (or giving it away to random strangers) without your permission.
Please see if you are listed with these scam artists and identity theft abettors, file a complaint with the Nebraska and California State Attorney Generals' offices, and write to your representatives to make sure this blatant invasion of privacy and knowing endangerment of your person is stopped.
These good-for-nothings make money — take money (!!) — to sell out innocent people to any thief, rapist, murderer, stalker, etc., who comes along. What does that make them?
I will be spreading this via Facebook, Twitter, email lists, forums, and privately as well as following through on complaints I've already filed with the Nebraska and California AG's offices, the FCC, my local police department and my representatives.
