On August 8, purchased 5 - 3 liter bottles of diet cola. The first 2 bottles that were opened were bad. Third bottle was OK. Fourth bottle was bad, and fifth bottle was OK.
Returned the 3 bad bottles, and was told by the cashier that Dollar Tree did not accept returns. Asked to speak to the Manager.
At first the "Manager" told us that we should have checked the expiration dates before we bought them. After the "Manager" checked the bottles she found there were no expiration dates on the bottles. The "Manager" then stated that just looking at the bottles she could tell they were OK.
The "Manager" gave us 1 bottle in exchange for 1 bad bottle, but would not exchange the other 2 bad bottles because she said we should have returned them before we opened them.
In the future, we will not buy anything from Dollar Tree because they do not stand behind what they are selling. We paid for 2 bottles that we could not drink because they were bad, and Dollar Tree would not make them good.
Fortunately for us, we are not on a tight budget, but given the current economy, there are a lot of people who are and who probably shop at Dollar Tree. Those folks need to get what they pay for, and if a product is defective, that product needs to be replaced at no charge by the business that sold it.
If Dollar Tree is not willing to do this, we suggest that others do as we are going to do in the future, and shop at one of the other dollar stores.
