On 8/3/10 I purchased an had installed two Nordyne HVAC units at my home. Earlier this summer I had to have the thermostat replaced in one and am now told the coils are leaking in the other. Nordyne is willing to replace the part but not cover the labor which will be over $500 when all is said and done. After researching this a little more I found that a lot of other Nordyne customers have experienced the same problem and so much so that Nordyne has re-designed the coil. This clearly appears to be a case of a design flaw on the part of Nordyne but they are so far still unwilling to cover the cost of installation to replace their defective part. I would run, not walk away from this product/company and anyone who tries to sell it to you. If you don't believe me then by all means search "Nordyne coil problems" to see for yourself.
