My daughter made my parents and my husband and me reservations at the Holiday Inn Express for her family weekend at her college. We asked her to book the least expensive rooms which I have done several times at Holiday Inn Express. We found out we needed to cancel those reservations 2 months before our scheduled stay and were told they were non-refundable reservations. They have a "Book Early and Save" rate that neither my daughter nor I noticed when she made the reservations or when I had made reservations in the past. It is in writing but there is nothing Bold, or IN RED, or listed as a WARNING that you are making a non-refundable reservation. It is in regular font, non-bold print that I have never even read myself when making a reservation. I'm sure most people go onto their site and simply scroll down for the best rate on the room they are looking for. I called the actual hotel and the 800 number and was told by both that if we cancelled we would lose our $600 for the 2 rooms for that weekend. Our credit cards have already been charged for the rooms.
