We took our Toyota Corolla to Cape Coast Collision for repair after an accident. My husband had already purchased and installed the new parts. Cape Coast Collision was to straighten the rear quarter panel up through the frame so that the rear lights, trunk and rear window would be in alignment, prime and paint the car. He was paid for most of the work and materials up front. After 3 days, he had straightened the rear quarter panel. We were to pick up the car the next day. At this point, we started getting phone calls for more money. When we went to get the vehicle, our car was gone along with Quaye Wettey. We tried to file a police report but that was fruitless since we had entrusted the car to his shop. We found him driving the vehicle about 3 hours later with an open container of beer. He had driven the car over 90 miles from the time it was delivered to him. He had now had the car for 8 days and the car was still unpainted. He claimed that he didn't have an air compressor for the paid gun and that was why he needed more money. There was a new air compressor in his shop. It wasn't working because the power had been turned off to his building. My husband advanced him the money when he took the car because the landlord was demanding the rent payment. He refused to answer the phone when he knew we were coming to pick up the car. I now have to take the car to another shop and pay to have the car painted.
This is not the first time we know that Cape Coast has ripped people off, driven their vehicles.
