I received a fax that looked like a legal notice that my domain name was about to expire and that it needed to be renewed immediately. I called the number given and was told I could renew for five or ten years. I was nervous about giving out a credit card number over the phone to them, so I told them I would call them back after I checked my records for when I initially set up the domain. I then called the firm that set up my domain and found out this is a scam that wants to take over the domain illegally. They said to ignore and tear up the notice. Just wanted to warn others about this... I came very close to giving out my cc # and my domain rights. Good thing I listened to the voice in my head!
