Test drove 1997 toyota rav4. The salesman assured us that it had passed many inspections by police departments etc. And that the vehicle was safe to drive and that we didnt need an inspection because they offer this great warrenty. It had a noise, there in house mechanic took us for another drive and said that it was the rotors. They said they would fix the rotors and new brakes. Right before signing he told us that it had a rebuilt title, but that it was insurable and safe to drive. $2000 was put down to hold the vehicle and to deliver the $1500 the next day. Delivered the money. Kept calling several times until at 5pm they said that the mechanic would fix it first thing the next day. Call them in morning to find out when it will be done. They inform us that the frame is cracked. They offered us three choices: 1. We could have someone fix at or through there shop as long as we buy parts through the dealer. 2. They offered us to use the vehicle as trade in back to them for another vehicle with extra payments. 3. Take the vehicle as is. We decided to just be done with it and take the vehicle, they informed us that before we can leave with the keys we have to sign a paper stating the car is undriveable and unsafe. They stated if we didnt't sign they were going to have their attourney talk to us. Then they didn't even give us the title. Going to try and get title tomorrow. What else can we do?
