Expensive Samsung washers suck do not buy - Samsung VRT Washer And STEAR VRT Drye

In 2010 we bought a Samsung VRT Washer & Dryer. Both were top of the line with
all the options. We have an open laundry area off the kitchen so we opted for a Ice Blue color which was extra including the stands. We paid over 3000.00 for them both.
This did not include the optional extended warranty. We bought them at Best Buy in Garner North Carolina. All went well for the first year, In the one year the the factory warranty expired. We did opt for the extended warranty?

The first problem was the dryer, the belt that turns the drum fell off, or so we were told had come off the drum. The problem was rectified without complaint

.in may The washer started to vibrate and rock during the spin cycle. We noticed little wholes in our bath towels and t-shirts, and various other clothing. The noise and vibrating became much worse, which prompted us to call Best Buy, we told that the extended warranty was no longer in effect.!!! So much for ever buying anything at Best Buy ever again. We called a Samsung authorized repair
office and had a tech visit set up.

The first tech had no knowledge of Samsung Washers, (he was just in first stages of training!!! Well about the third tech visit we came across a somewhat knowledgeable repairman. The first diagnosis was four shock absorbing struts that went under the actual wash tub. After he replaced them the problem became worse! The tech then ordered 2 new parts a new stainless wash tub, that has a balanced weight welded on the back of it.

He also ordered a molded plastic wash tub that houses the stainless steel wash tub. This tub holds the water etc, and should not move during any cycle. This part has some type of bearing in it that holds the wash tub in a correct position, and keeps it from vibrating. The tech ordered both parts but only the stainless steel wash tub came. For some reason we could not trace the part, or find it from the appliance repairman's company.

We escalated the matter and we were told if the part could not be located we would get a replacement washer exactly like the one we originally purchased
.
WELL GUESS WHAT? The complaint was sent into the repairman's company for research, investigation, and a resolution. We were offered a credit at Sears for 400.00 for a 1200.00 Washer. We cannot even match the color. We looked on line and Sears has nothing (no washer) you can buy for 400.00.

Maybe they were thinking of a steel tub and scrub board. We think not!!!

We intend to fight this matter until we get a satisfactory resolution!!! We found the part is available at a local appliance part distributor. There should be no reason why Samsung and the repair company, cannot procure the correct part from them or another source and repair the washer We original bought.

When purchasing the washer and dryer pair we thought we did our homework.
Apparently consumers guide and the other advertised consumer award company were bought and advertised by Samsung and just for Samsung. We will never buy another Samsung product, EVER. We intend to spread this news Thur Facebook friends and any blog we can find.

What happened to the good old days, when you could buy a Maytag or Sears Lady Kenmore, and knew it would last for at least nine to ten years with little of no repair. We regret not buying a regular top loading washer and matching dryer for less money. We would not have been going to the local Laundromat since April. Just $3.75 per load @ four loads for washing twice a week.

Our advice stay away from samsung or any washer / dryer made by that company made under a different brand name.

Samsung sucks... Sincerely, donna l. Clayton nc.
