Think twice before ever applying to work at this company. I think standing on a street corner begging for change would be more rewarding and I know more profitable.

As noted in so many other complaints that I have seen on this site, yes their training sucks. They sit you in front of a computer for an hour to watch a training video and then put you on the sales floor unsupervised and if you are stupid/desperate enough to come back the next day they keep you.

Over my 3 years of employeement there I would either ask questions of other employees to ask "how or why" and if a manager saw you they would say stop talking to each other. They did not care if you were asking a question of another employee that might assist you in making a sale, they did not want you to talk to each other.

Normally you would think if you have a problem you would ask a manager but because we were so understaffed there would be maybe 1 manager per floor to assist you and customers do not like and should not have to wait for 15 minutes to get an answer to their question, especially not at a company with the prestiage of Macys.

They did not care if you took a lunch break, if there was nobody to cover your section you were left hi and dry to suffer and yes there was one time that I did not make it to the bathroom in time because they could not find anybody to relieve my line at the register.

Also going back to training, they provided you one hour of computer training but you were left to learn the products that you were to sell on your own time.

Finally please be advised they would tell you to do whatever you have to do to make the customer happy and make the sale so they come back to Macys and no other store, but when they want to terminate your employeement they will use your decision making process against you.
