I am requesting a refund for nights stayed at the Hotel Europeenne in Montreal Quebec. The nights in question are July 25 and 26th. We rented 2 rooms with 2 beds in each. We were told on arrival we had to also pay $20.00 each for a parking space which was in the back of the hotel under a tow away zone. The rooms were dirty - carpets filthy, bathroom has tiles falling off wall, toothpaste on wall above sink, pubic hairs over the toilet (which I cleaned before using it) lamps broken, screens in window pushed (in a bad part of town) and A/c was not working in our room. A tumbler fell off the table and shattered. My Husband took the broken glass down to the front desk, got a new one & reported the glass on the carpet. It was not cleaned up and remained on the carpet for our entire stay. The night of the 26th July we went to bed around 10:00 as we had a long drive in the AM back to Nova Scotia. At around midnight the noise started in the next room to ours. This went on for sometime and my husband banged on the wall but the noise did not stop. About 1/2 hour later I went into the hall to see what was going on and bumped into several "Ladies of the night " will we say. I asked them to please keep it down as there were people trying to sleep. Still the noise did not stop. We waited for awhile not wanting to cause trouble for anyone but the noise continued. At around 3:00 we called the front desk to complain and we were told he would "Take care of it" Again the noise did not stop and was even worst then before. We finally gave in and got up to check out. We had not slept ALL night. Before we left I was SO angry I took my shoe and POUNDED HARD on the wall.By this time they must have been tired from all the night activities cause they seemed to settle down a bit. TOO LATE for us. We complained at the front desk and I said we wanted our money back. We had a bit of a shouting match and the young man on the desk called his manager and told him to come in as he had a problem. They went upstairs to check on the room and came back and said "They are not noisy now"Of course they were quiet they partied all night. At this time we found our that the desk guy had been up twice through the night to ask them to be quiet and finally split them up. The only thing that did was make more noise with the slamming of doors and hooting and hollering in the hallway. Today July 30 we received a phone call from the manager? Owner? @ 12:56PM accusing us of making up stories and causing trouble for him just so we could get our money back. I am not sure how he got our phone number but he was not very nice.
