I recently tried to purchase an airline ticket from Fly.co.uk With a domain like that you would expect a reputable travel agency. I got through the whole booking process and was thenn asked for my card details which I dutifully provided. Once this step had been completed, instead of being taken to a confirmation page, I was taken to a page which stated that I would be notified later whether my card had been approved. So no real time card transactions. Half an hour later I got a call from the bank telling me that they had declined the transaction because they thought it was suspicious. I foolishly told them that it was fine, and they told me to simply re-book and they would be sure to process the payment this time around.
I made another booking and entered my card details again. What happens next is absurd:
I get three emails from Fly.co.uk - the first stated that the bank had declined my first booking because the bank declined the payment; the second stated that my second booking was being cancelled because it is a duplicate booking; the third message notified me that they would "only" be charging me £100 for "my cancellation". I complained to them and did not get response.
They continue to debit my account with £100 - every month so far. The bank says that this was entered by them as a recurring debit.
They do not have a working telephone number, and they return all emails with an auto-response stating that they do not read or store their emails.
