My boyfriend answered an ad on CL. She was looking for an architect to draw some plans/sketches. This woman said she would pay for the work if "we" opened a Chase bank account. I did. We gave her the account number to deposit funds online.
6-25-12 deposit of $2100.. Which the bank placed on hold.-5-12 deposit $2100.. Bank places 5 day hold on
6-27-12 $2100 returned... She did the transfer wrong.
7 the funds. Available on 7-10-12
7-6-12 deposit $2090. Bank places a 5 day hold. Funds available on 7-11-12
7-12-12 wired my boyfriend $1713... Deduction
7-13-12 deposit $2300. Bank place hold on funds. Available 7-18-12
7-13-12 deposit $2290. Bank places hold on funds. Available 7-18-12
*7-13-12 wired $2000 to her "husband" supposedly he will pay for work from here on out
7-17-12 bank informs me all the money is being returned due to the sender having "insufficient funds"
Chase tells me that even though the money was released from the hold I am still accountable for the -$3930.
7-18-12 Chase bank informs us that the account is being closed. I have 10 days to come up with the money or arrange a payment plan.
7-19-12 & 7-21-12 sent correspondence to Diana and told her of the predicament. She says that she is truly sorry for what has happened & will rectify the situation (yeah right) but, it will take her 4 months. She's apparently out of the country. Meanwhile I have no way of covering this appalling loss.
