This company called, alse referenced IBEN, to my 89 yr old mother in VA and already had her checking account/ABA details and led her to believe they were going to be sending her a new medical card. With all the Obamacare chatter she believed them and provided her next check number but when she hung up became suspicious.
She called me in Chicago and I called the number and an Indian woman answered and when I asked who they were and why they were calling my 89 yr old mother, she stated they only offer insurance to 65-85 year olds and to giver her my phone number and she would delete all her info. From their systems. I told her I wanted to know how they obtained her checking acct. Details and I would not provide any additional info. And she yelled did I want it removed or not and hung up on me.
At that point I phoned mom's bank and we closed the account and put a block on any checks being submitted and just an hour ago they tried to put one through as check 1234 in the amount of $447 and some change.
We were lucky to have caught them before she was scammed for any money but PLEASE be aware!!
