Recently traded my barrel prospect horse for what was called a "beginner safe, no buck, no rear, horse" I rode him the day of and he was great. After assured I would remain in contact with not only them but the horse I traded them and assured if things didn't work out with their horse, that they would either come help me out, trade me back, or buy my horse and take theirs back, we traded horses. The horse I ended up with was a severely underweight horse, who were told was a rescue and would take time to fatten up, we believed them, later to find out they had the horse for seven months and was still a body condition score of 3 with no medical reason why he should still be that skinny. The first ride at home with a beginner rider on him, he bucked and reared. I contacted them and was told it was very out of character but again assured if problems still occurred we can trade back. Two days later, same problems, with different riders and the beginner, (several tack changes and vet check, to rule out anything on our end causing a problem).
