I figured this was a shady character after speaking with him over the phone.
I found the rental listing on Trulia:
10052 Edye Drive, Huntington Beach, CA 92646
$1300/month $700/deposit
I did further research, it turns out that this property was just listed for sale! The guy or group post ads for rent on new residential real estate listings. I was a sucker at first so I drove by the property. Of course there was no one around to speak with nor any real estate signs. I then typed the address into Google to find the listing details and the listing agent. These people do there homework. He identified himself as the Kevin Segawa. Kevin Segawa is the homeowner on the Grant deed. For those of you that aren't aware; this information is filed under public record so it is available to anyone with computer access. Complete fraud. The contact information he uses appears to be a google voice number: (312) 473-0023 IL, USA

I also have the string of emails leading to a demand for a filled out rental application if needed. They wanted me to do a wire transfer for the rent and deposit=$2000 to Receivers name: Theresa Hansen
