I go to Applebees all the time & it just happened to be my birthday & it was my worst experience ever. First the waitress was not accurate with the items on the menu. I asked for the sauce that goes w/the onion rings she said they haven't carried that in over 5 yrs. Then after explaining to her what I was asking for, she went to the back & got the sauce. I ordered 2 of the cajun shrimp pasta & the bourbon street chicken & shrimp & the shrimp were still pink w/little seasoning so I asked the waitress to take them back & when it was brought back it looked like the picture on the menu. So the kitchen manager came out & was arguing w/me & my guests about how the food was supposed to look. When the pastas were brought out, they were very dry. So we asked the waitress for some more sauce to put in it. It took her 10 mins to bring it out. The other guest had already finished their food. I asked for the check because I was now ready to leave because of the poor service. I asked the manager if I could pay for the food that was eaten & the drinks & he had an ugly attitude & said that I had to pay for the whole bill I said I didn't eat this food & it wasn't prepared to liking. The manager said it is their policy that if the food is prepared properly that you have to pay for it. And I said if it was prepared properly then why did I have to send it back to the kitchen & the sauce was brought to the table to be added. He said if I didn't pay for it all I would be charged w/theft. So one of the guests that was w/me call the police, when he arrived he said he couldn't change the policy of Applebees. He also said that it was very dry. The manager was very argumentive & did not try & resolve the situation. After paying for a meal I didn't eat I looked up the policy at Applebees & I was correct, the customer was right. The manager said where does it say that the customer is right? I told him I will never ever come to that Applebees again & will discourage others that I know from going. What a way to get treated on your birthday: (
