Ameren disconnected my electricity on the 14th because they didn't see my payment that was made on the 13th. They are charging me a 332 dollar disconnection fee. I feel this deviant and underhanded business practice. I have a statement from my bank showing proof that the payment was made on the 13th. Ameren says they didn't see it and refuses to remove the deposit on my account. I wonder how much money this company swindles out of their customers by saying that an electronic transfer could not be seen by employees? Really? This is wrong. I have filed complaints with the BBB and IL commerce and ameren still refuses to acknowledge payment was made on the date that the disconnection notice clearly states. I will continue to let all ameren customers know what underhanded and deviant practices they use to swindle customers out of 332 deposits by pretending that they didn't see it.
