A Sports Illustrated for Kids subscription was automatically renewed and charged to my credit card at $39.95 for 12 issues. Normal rate is $19.95. I was able to cancel the subscription by phone and receive a full refund.initial response from TWX was "that's what it costs" but they quickly changed their story when I resisted.
Clearly they are counting on people to not pay attention to billing for subscription renewal. However, it appears they have also figured out not to fight back when caught red-handed.
I will order the magazine at $19.95 without a renewal option and pay by check.
