I applied for a townhouse and at the time of application was asked for a $245.00 deposit plus a $50.00 application. The application was denied. When seeking my refund since 65; the management of the lakes of the Brice did the following:
I wrote a check for $299 and a check for $100.00 (50.00) application and the last portion of the security deposit. Management had informed me and my daughter they did not have the $100.00 check (wasn't no where to be found) My daughter handles my money - she was asked to email a copy of the bank record where the $299.00 check cleared on June 5th or 6th. I was not informed of the denial. After calling for two day I went to the office on June 6th and was told of the denial.
The Corporate office in Centerville will not connect you to the management office or any other office; the send you back to the property management on site.
I was told that it would take 2-4 weeks for my refund and that I would only receive $189.00. The mangement office said there was a $60.00 return check fee for the $100.00 they say bounced in key bank and the $50.00 deposit.
My daughter has no returned check nor was there a check submittd for $100.00. I did not receive any servuces goods! Nor have I occupied the property of any of the Connor Group properties.
If is unreal that all I did was complete and application; asked for a security prior to approval; check submitted to bank prior to me being informed if I was approved or not. The Security Deposit is used when the presenting applicant is approved. I did a review on the Connor Group and the Lakes of Brice and found that this is not the first scam my this property owners.
