To describe a case of perfect rip-off by realtors, i will append the email followings with the RTK management. There was a change of management for our unit during our lease and we were told by RTK management to pay the last month rent to a new management called ALPHA. We were not returned the security deposit by RTK saying that we should claim it from the new management ALPHA. When we tried to contact ALPHA (which by the way is hardly accessible as the Allston office managers never answer one phone call), we were told that they did not have any security deposits and they only had our last month rent which they refused to give back. When informed to RTK, they hold themnselves completely clear of any responsibility. Folowing are the email conversations.
This was written by the lesees to RTK Management after numerous misdirected conversations with various realtors who were incharge of our unit. At 311 huntington Avenue (on 12 th dec.)
"We were on lease from sept aug. Boston realty tells us that you used our security deposit to pay june rent which was paid by us.
We have all the records. Moreover, you are not supposed to use security deposit money to pay the rents. The last month rent was paid to alpha management as directed by RTK."
RTK replies on 25th Dec.:
"HRST sold the building on 8/29/07 to NORA LLC.
I check our record, HRST pass your security deposit of $1650 to NORA LLC, we did not said you owe us June 07 rent and we did not deducted any money from your security deposit.
Up to 8/29/07 you owe Aug 07 rent only, on this e-mail you said you paid your last month rent to Alphma, would you please fax or attach the copy of this check to me.
I think you should talk to Alpha Management or NORA LLC.
Since we sold the buildings and passed your security deposit to NORA LLC, so we don't responsible for this matter.

The copy of check with the foll. Email was sent by us:
"Attached is the copy of the cheque.
The last notice, you sent us was for aug rent to be paid to Alpha M, which we did.
The lease says: "SECURITY DEPOSIT. The security deposit may not be used as rent. It WILL be refunded within 30 days after vacating premises..."
This lease was signed with RTK Management. Now if they sell or do whatever, it is their responsibility to stick to the lease. We have made numerous attempts to talk to Alpha but they do not entertain any queries regarding Security deposit and legitimately so since we did not sign the lease with them. Its already beyond the stipulated 30 days... We just want our money back..."
On 29th Dec. we get the following reply:
"When HRST sell the buildings also sell all the lease to the new owner, HRST truned your security deposit to the new owner. HRST did not use your security deposit for any reason.
RTK is only the management for HRST. You security deposit money is in the new owner's hand. Since HRST sold the buildings in Aug 29, HRST transfer all the lease and security deposit to the new owner... I don't know how they deducted your security deposit..."
We are now in the midst of a situation where non of the parties hold responsiblity for a refund and the money definitely is not going to the deserving ones.
