Buyer Beware of Poor Quality from Dodds and Ede

I spent A FORTUNE on furniture that was supposed to be "superior", "best of the best", "high end", "finest quality", and "most functional". It was to have been an example of "excellence in design, quality materials, and craftsmanship". You claim that your reputation is based upon that level of merchandise, and also customer service that is "unparalleled", "all encompassing", "timely", and "willing to do whatever it takes". (The above description is directly from their aggressive press and advertising campaign).

That is GROSS a misrepresentation: they do not deliver what they advertise and the customer service is horrific.

The product delivered was cheap and poorly made, and the order was incorrect. It took from 4/16 until mid July to get a completely correct order delivered - after a promised lead time of 4-6 weeks. The delay was a result of errors made on behalf of Dodds and Eder. Because of continued quality issues, subsequent deliveries were made in August. No warranties or cleaning instructions came with furniture.

The fabric cushions for the teak lounges were stitched carelessly from fabric THAT ALLOWED WATER TO SOAK CUSHIONS FOR DAYS. Labels and ties were added haphazardly, sticking out unattractively from any angle. Zippers on cushions broke as they were such garbage. Umbrella fabric was puckered and wrinkled, stitched in the same manner as cushions. An umbrella broke.

Teak lounges mildewed after only a few weeks!

Customer service was antagonistic and rude. Although they eventually agreed that the order was indeed inferior quality and took back the umbrellas, they have refused to take back the remaining cushions - made from the same fabric, and of the same shabby quality by the same manufacturer at the same time. They have argued that teak lounges that mold and mildew after 4-6 weeks are not defective and will not take them back. Customer service is awful and sent nasty and sarcastic emails. They refuse to cooperate.

Far from what they advertise, I am now stuck with water soaked cushions and mildewed teak lounges!
