I purchased 2 couches, a chair and ottoman from Ashley through Furniture Deals on line in 2010. I live in a very rural area-so there aren't too many furniture places in our area. I had bought Ashley furniture before (table and bedroom set) from their actual store with no issue. After a few months the cushions were collapsing and the covers were snagging and showing a lot of wear. I called Furniture Deals and they sent me 6 brand new cushions to solve the problem. Now, around 6 I started having the same problem. This time it was much worse as the seams were actually tearing apart. I do not have any small children and rarely use the 2nd couch except for company. The fabric on the cushions were actually wearing through and losing the chenille texture. I mostly only vacuum my cushions. Being that I purchased the 4 year extended warranty for 99.00 through this company I thought all was good. Furniture Deals would do nothing since it was past a year. Called the warranty co. And had forms to fill out, and was told on the phone that they probably will not cover as they see it as "normal" wear and tear. Really? A set of couches that isn't even 3 years old? They denied claim. Contacted BBB and stressed the fact that since this was the 2nd time with this issue, either the fabric was defective/and or sub par quality to not hold up to sitting. Again, company used the blanketed excuse of "normal" wear and BBB closed the case. I then proceeded to send a letter and pics to Ashley directly. Response, you can have couch serviced and fixed on your own dollar.
This company does not stand behind its furniture at all. Poor quality of fabric and cushion foam. Buyer beware, looks good when you first get it, wears out quickly. Save your money and buy a better brand of furniture that will last you! Lesson learned here. Never purchase extended warranty either. It is a waste of your money (my sister had the same issue with the same warranty co. Too) take your money but will not do anything to fix issue. I should note I did not receive warranty contract pamphlet till after purchased on line (I did call and question what was covered and of course on phone ALL is covered). I would never buy Ashley couches again.
