When I opened my AT&T wireless bill for the month of June I noticed two charges of 9.99 on my wife's phone line for SMS Joke Alerts, and Words/Definition ale. The statement indicates the subscription started on May 27, but there are no messages on the phone about this service or any acknowledgment/receipt.
I was able to use the on-line functions provided by AT&T to cancel the future subscription, but have been unable to get a full refund for the amount already billed. Customer service is stonewalling.
AT&T must know that they are helping perpetrate a scam and collecting some percentage for managing the billing. Shame on them.
