I rented a vehicle from Budget for 4 days from 5/17 to 5/21. Almost 3 weeks after I turned it in, Budget charged my account for what they called ‘excessive’ cleaning! I totally disagree with this unjustified and unauthorized charge. I had minor sand dusting on the front floor mats, nothing more. Budget is trying to rip me off and I wonder how many people have been charged this excessive cleaning fee.
When I first contacted Budget, the first thing they said was that I had smoked in the vehicle, when I told them that I’m a non-smoker, the budget representative kept me on the phone for 10 minutes and then told me that the whole car had to be cleaned, which I find preposterous! He gave me a telephone number for Budget customer service at the San Francisco airport. I called that number at least 15 times over the last 3 days, only to be routed to a voice mail every single time. No one ever returned my call.
