In June my husband met Chad O'Laughlin in Oklahoma City, OK. Chad owns US Exteriors out of Edmond, OK. My husband was working with another roofing company when he met Chad and offered my husband an Office Manager position to run an office for him in Lincoln, NE. It was more money (so we thought) and my husband accepted. Now, I had worked for Walmart for nearly 10 years and my husband was kind of new with just only working with roofing companies. We were a preferred contractor with the US Post Office before this, but after the economy started falling apart in the Post Office had to cut back on work being sub-contracted out, thus our business went under. So, my husband got into roof sales and had been doing it for nearly 10 months before he met this jerk of a man named Chad O'Laughlin. Since my husband was traveling more, expenses started to rise between where he was staying and our apartment we had, because I was still working at the time. So, since he was making more than I was, we decided that I should quit my job, and we ended our lease that May packed up everything, stored it and I went on the road with him. Now, we met Chad in June while working the storms that had hit in Oklahoma. We had both of our trucks with us, and after my husband took the new offer, we decided that we didn't need to take both trucks with us so Chad said we could leave it at his office in Edmond, OK. I know, bad move. We get to Lincoln, NE where we set up the office for Chad, hired the guys, roofers, door knockers, you name it, we did it. My husband was to get $500 a week for running the office, a percentage of what he sold, plus 3% of what his guys sold. I helped my husband take care/run the office and went out on jobs with him. Pretty soon we had 74 jobs on the board in the 2 months we were there. Awesome, so I thought. Roofs were finally going up. But soon after, everything started going to hell. Door knockers, roofers and even we, weren't getting paid. Chad did pay for a house for us to stay in (which we also used as the office, and we shared with 3 other salesmen) so we did not have to pay rent, but we took care of food, misc, our gas, etc. So we needed to get paid something also because what money I had left when I quit working was running out. First the door knockers were complaining because the checks that were sent (Fed Ex) were not for the full amounts they were suppose to get. Called Chad to let him know, and he fired them. Then Roofers were coming by saying they weren't being paid. Again, called Chad and he said the check would be in the mail. A few days later, one of the sales guys complained about not getting paid, and he was fired. When my husband complained a few days later about everything going on, we were the next to go. This brought us to about mid August now. When we told Chad that we needed to pick our truck up he said "good luck with that". I haven't seen my truck since then. We did report a stolen vehicle to the Edmond Police Department, but nothing has turned up. We did find out that a mechanics shop had put a lien on the truck for some work they did to it, when Chad put it in some shop. That was last year. Sorry if my story was long, but I just want everyone to be aware of this fraud. Do not do business or work for this guy.
